About the position

The Machine Operator at Mallin Companies, Inc. is responsible for operating and maintaining wire processing production equipment in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality control standards. The operator will report directly to the Plant Manager and play a key role in the overall productivity and efficiency of the plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
• Operate and maintain wire processing production equipment in the most proficient manner
• Inspect finished product produced to ensure proper quality control standards are met
• Pay attention to detail on all required operations
• Utilize a rotating forklift to load, unload, and feed material through the plant
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant
• Meet established plant production goals, i.e. chop rates, change out times, shredding, etc
• Attend all scheduled corporate training and required safety meetings
• Perform limited maintenance on all equipment
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Familiarity with PLC/computerized controls of production equipment
• Manufacturing knowledge
• Safe and proficient forklift operator
• Mechanical aptitude-knowledge of hand tools, etc. to perform routine production maintenance
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and policy
• Ability to adapt to constant changing situations
• Ability to work well under pressure with demands and deadlines
• Excellent presence and work ethic
• Teamwork and effective communication skills
