About the position

The Machine Operator position at Snap-On Tools involves operating and setting up both manual and CNC machines to ensure efficient production cycles. The position is on the third shift, with a focus on maintaining safety and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up manual machines for production cycles.
  • Operate both manual and CNC machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables.
  • Adjust controls to set and regulate machining factors.
  • Inspect and measure parts using various tools.
  • Control and adjust machine settings as needed.
  • Feed raw material to machines and test operations periodically.
  • Resolve issues that occur during the shift.
  • Change inserts on manual and CNC machines as required.
  • Manually assemble parts using hand tools.
  • Examine completed workpieces for defects and sort accordingly.
  • Prepare completed parts for shipment and document departmental paperwork.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of work areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Good communication skills in English.

  • Experience with CNC machines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.
