About the position

The Machine Shop Supervisor at CMC Steel Fabricators Inc. is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the machine shop, ensuring a safe work environment, and managing production processes. This role involves promoting safety, managing staff, planning production, and conducting performance reviews, all while providing training and support to team members to help them excel in their roles.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work environments through example; good housekeeping & effective safety meetings
• Manage daily operations
• Communicate important shift information, production issues, concerns and needs with proper personnel
• Plan out production for most efficient process
• Ensure forklift and crane reports are completed each shift
• Utilize improvement projects that increase the department's functionality
• Analyze, treat & establish counter measures for failures
• Plan maintenance work as well as work routinely with vendors
• Monitor daily staffing needs and communicate with other employees to fill in vacancies to maintain operations
• Plan and attend required staffing and safety meetings
• Planning of future budgets
• Hold Performance Reviews with employees and/or give feedback on employees' performance

Requirements

• Experience in Inventory Control
• Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Data entry in SAP/QMOS experience
• Ability to track, chart, and improve processes
