About the position

The Machine Technician I is responsible for providing high-quality repair services on equipment to meet customer needs effectively and efficiently. This role involves working with various mechanical systems and components, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations, and completing tasks within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete jobs accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Complete all Level I assigned training in a timely and proficient manner.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting purposes.
  • Possession of adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties.
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate a field vehicle.
  • Successfully complete Work steps assessment and be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
  • May be required to complete DOT physical and MSHA certification.
