About the position

The Machine Technician I is responsible for providing high-quality repair services on equipment to meet customer needs promptly and effectively. This role involves working with various mechanical systems and components, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies while maintaining a focus on efficiency and quality of work.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete jobs accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Complete all Level I assigned training in a timely and proficient manner.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting purposes.
  • Possession of adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties.
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate field vehicles.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime, and on-call.

Nice-to-haves

  • MSHA certification
  • Experience with heavy equipment mechanics or diesel mechanics.
