About the position

The Machine Technician at The Jel Sert Company is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving electrical and mechanical issues, as well as performing routine maintenance on machinery. This role is essential in ensuring the efficiency and safety of manufacturing operations, contributing to the production of high-quality food and beverage products. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems on machines.
• Perform routine and basic equipment maintenance.
• Evaluate machinery and provide a list of needed improvements.
• Focus on machine efficiency issues and process improvements.
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Complete work assignments in a timely fashion with minimal direction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience working with electrical, hydraulics, programming, and mechanical PLCs.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industries.
• Knowledge of machine elements, pipe fitting, instrumentation, and shop safety.
• Basic PLC knowledge and experience.
• Experience performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Ability to install, verify, and validate new equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Experience with GMP and safety regulations.
