Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. We are looking for you to join our team as a Machining Manufacturing Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA. You will support the manufacturing and testing of marine propulsion and power generations systems working on various manufacturing processes for high value gearing and steam turbine assemblies, machined components, and welded fabrications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new processes and improve existing manufacturing processes.
  • Develop required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, welders, and engineers.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost and improve sustainability.
  • Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimized production area layouts.
  • Manage bills of materials and create detailed work instructions, process procedures, and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for expanded production processes.
  • Support final acceptance testing of product and provide technical support to test facility operation as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant work experience; master's degree with 3 years of relevant work experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong experience with machining and machine shops.
  • Experience or specialization in mechanical assembly processes, welding, and machining.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience machining and troubleshooting of machines.
  • Experience measuring and analyzing precision parts.
  • Capable of programming CNC lathes, mills, and/or grinders.
  • Experience with selecting and managing Capital Equipment (CapEX) projects for machinery.
