About the position

CNH Industrial is seeking a Machining Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Racine, WI. This role is pivotal in enhancing worker safety, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency within our expansive 600,000+ square foot manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers to analyze current manufacturing methods and explore new technologies aimed at cost reduction and efficiency improvements. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to promoting a safe and productive work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and planning equipment and machine layouts, as well as workflow and safety precautions to optimize the utilization of our manufacturing facilities. You will evaluate worker efficiency and recommend improvements to enhance workforce performance, reduce waste, and control costs. Additionally, you will create performance indicators to measure plant and equipment capacity output, identifying bottlenecks in equipment and process flow. Establishing accident prevention measures is a critical aspect of this position, along with planning and scheduling training programs for personnel to ensure compliance with industry safety standards. You will also determine facility specifications through thorough analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design. The role involves resolving technical problems and recommending production improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to improve utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Evaluate worker efficiency and recommend improvements to increase workforce and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Create performance indicators to measure plant and equipment capacity output, and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Establish accident prevention measures and plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation.
  • Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Determine facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design.
  • Resolve technical problems and recommend production improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or other technical subject area and 3+ years of experience providing manufacturing engineering support in a machining manufacturing or industrial shop environment.
  • OR Associates Degree and 6+ years of experience.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming with horizontal and/or vertical machining centers.
  • Experience with M and G code programming is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of ProE and AutoCAD, as well as good PC skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
