About the position

The Machining Process Engineer at GE Aerospace is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) parts for aircraft engines. This role involves planning and executing production activities while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards. The engineer will work closely with shop floor personnel and lead projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes, requiring a blend of technical knowledge and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment.
• Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
• Improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
• Lead cycle time improvements.
• Design and implement necessary tooling and fixtures for manufacturing and process improvements.
• Create and maintain schedules to achieve project targets.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
• Participate and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities related to manufacturing concerns.
• Listen to the voice on the floor, understand problems, and implement effective countermeasures.
• Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement.
• Engage in hands-on problem solving and investigation.
• Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability and resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology.
• 2 to 5 years of experience with Production Processes and Equipment.
• CNC machining programming experience.
