About the position

The Process Engineering position focuses on the manufacturing processes of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) parts for aircraft engines in a production environment. The role involves planning and execution of departmental operations, requiring self-directed judgment with some guidance. It emphasizes the execution of activities within standard functional practices and procedures, impacting overall departmental performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
  • Lead/cycle time improvements.
  • Design & implement necessary tooling & fixtures for manufacturing and process improvements.
  • Create & maintain schedules to achieve project targets.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
  • Participate & Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action activity related to concerns that arise through the manufacturing process.
  • Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures & assure sustainability.
  • Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement.
  • Hands-on problem solving & investigation approach.
  • Work closely with shop floor personnel.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with Production Processes and Equipment.
  • CNC machining programming experience.
