About the position
The Machining Relief Supervisor is responsible for assisting the on-duty shift supervisor in meeting daily production requirements, managing labor assignments, and providing coverage for the Shift Supervisor as needed. This role involves monitoring work activities, coaching personnel, and ensuring safe operations while prioritizing daily activities to meet customer requirements. The position requires hands-on machine setup and operation skills, along with strong organizational and communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist on-duty shift supervisor with daily production requirements.
- Help assess and assign the day's work and labor appropriately.
- Manage special projects and planning.
- Train personnel and occasionally work with outside vendors.
- Provide coverage for Shift Supervisor as needed.
- Monitor work activities and coach personnel on machine setup and operations.
- Ensure timely shipment of quality products to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills with all levels of staff.
- Strong reasoning ability to carry out instructions and solve problems.
- Cost profit consciousness and ability to determine profitable outcomes.
- Good attendance and punctuality for scheduled hours.
- Ability to mentor and assist in training employees.
