About the position

The Machining Technology Assistant is an entry-level position designed to prepare individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in the fabrication and modification of metal parts. This role supports various manufacturing, repair, or design activities and involves operating a range of machine tools to produce precision parts while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating a variety of manufacturing machine tools to produce precision parts.
• Operating manual mills, drill press, grinders, CNC mill, injection molding machine, and other shop equipment.
• Reading blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
• Measuring dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Adhering to shop rules and safety standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
