The Machinist 2 position at Parker Aerospace involves setting up, programming, and operating various industrial machines to manufacture aerospace quality components from materials such as Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys. This role is crucial in supporting job shop machining operations and requires a blend of technical skills and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities

• Perform complex machining operations in support of job shop machining.
• Operate multiple types of machine tools and perform progressive machining operations to completion, creating tooling components and assemblies with close tolerances or high finish requirements.
• Fit and assemble components using machinists' hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Demonstrate familiarity with the working properties of various materials.
• Program CNC machines as necessary during the manufacturing process.
• Detect faulty processes and provide input for their resolution.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings, and documents.
• Ensure proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
• Demonstrate basic operations to others with supervisor approval when asked.
• Work under limited oversight.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and symbols.
• Understanding of proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
• Familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to perform shop mathematics associated with machining.
• Demonstrated expertise on multiple machine types or proficiency on a single purpose machine involving multiple machining processes.

• Experience with CNC programming.
