About the position
Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. This position allows machining students to gain manufacturing experience while completing their two-year Machine Tool Technology degree. Interns will complete special project work support, learn to work on advanced equipment, and have the opportunity to run a variety of machines providing Graco machines unload. This position is on 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm).
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned machines within department.
- Learn simple setups and troubleshooting while supervised by skilled Graco full-time machinists.
- Check parts with hard gauging and CMM.
- Perform periodic quality checks as described in operation layouts.
- Package, wash, and deburr as described in operation layouts or otherwise directed by full-time Graco Machinist, Engineer, or Supervisor.
- Keep a clean and organized work area.
- Responsible for the quality of the parts they produce and follow all necessary inspection requirements.
- Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support co-workers to operate to department expectations.
- Focus on safety and follow all safety rules and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Students must be enrolled in a two-year Machine Tool Technology program.
- Student must be in good standing with the school if enrolled, maintaining a C average or better.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Comply with all safety rules and requirements.
