About the position

This position is located at the Old Station Plant in Wenatchee and is a full-time, year-round role. The working shift is during the day, specifically from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, although hours may vary depending on production needs. A pre-employment drug test is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Logging all maintenance performed
  • Observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
  • Dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Examining form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Installing special functional and structural parts in devices
  • Lubricating and cleaning parts
  • Starting devices to test their performance
  • Initiating purchase orders for parts and machines
  • Analyzing equipment for preventative maintenance
  • Maintaining date information for packing lines, including completion
  • Organizing parts, machinery, and line items
  • Maintaining current training for new equipment or machinery
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • 1 year of strong mechanical, electrical, and computerized background in line equipment
  • Good mechanical comprehension and understanding of fruit packing chemicals
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Flexibility with working schedule, including some weekend work
  • Personal tools required
  • Ability to operate manual lathe/mill
  • Ability to TIG weld
