About the position
The macro squawker/strategist role at Bloomberg's Markets Live team involves delivering timely and actionable market insights by analyzing geopolitical, monetary policy, and economic news. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively under pressure, and collaboration with a team to produce written analysis and broadcast updates over an audio squawk channel.
Responsibilities
- Exercise excellent news judgment
- Broadcast relevant headlines and insightful market updates over our squawk audio channel
- Produce macro markets analysis for Bloomberg's Markets Live blog with authority and accuracy in English
- Identify underlying themes and shifts in global markets
- Collaborate with team members and utilize market contacts and analysis tools to shape ideas
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience
- Proven experience analyzing or reporting on global asset markets
- Experience of working in a front-line markets role or a real-time news organization
- Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal functions (preferred)
