The Mail Clerk position is a part-time role focused on sorting and directing incoming and outgoing mail for all County Departments. The primary responsibility includes managing U.S. Postal Service and interoffice mail, ensuring that all mail is sorted accurately and delivered to the appropriate departments. The Mail Clerk will also be responsible for affixing postage on outgoing mail using a postage meter, maintaining the postage machine, and ordering necessary postal supplies. Additionally, the role involves preparing and recording incoming certified mail, priority mail, and other packages into an Excel spreadsheet, as well as generating monthly accounting postage reports for various accounts. The Mail Clerk will also handle mail specifically for the Finance/Accounting Department, ensuring that it is opened and distributed correctly. This position requires answering incoming telephone calls related to the mailroom and performing other related duties as assigned.
