About the position

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento. The Outgoing Mail unit is looking for a self-motivated individual to join as a Mailing Machines Operator II. The role involves operating various types of mailing machines and equipment, including high-speed mail inserters, card attaching equipment, postage meters, heavy-duty folders, scales, joggers, and barcode readers. The operator must be capable of making complex adjustments and minor repairs on these machines, maintaining daily production records, and transporting materials. The position requires the ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and to keep the work area clean and safe. The shift hours are from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of mailing machines and equipment.
• Make complex adjustments and minor repairs on mailing machines.
• Maintain daily production records.
• Transport materials on pallets, cages, and/or postal carts.
• Complete proper forms for Post Office billings.
• Lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
