About the position

The Mainframe and Java Developer role at NavaTech LLC is a contract position focused on modernization projects that transition mainframe systems to Java-based solutions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both mainframe technologies and Java development, specifically with COBOL, CICS, JCL, ChangeMan, and Java frameworks such as Spring. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and the ability to provide technical support and mentorship to junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL and Java for modernization efforts.
• Work on Java APIs and batch jobs, integrating with mainframe systems.
• Perform complex software analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for mission-critical systems.
• Provide technical support and mentorship for junior developers.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in software development, with strong skills in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and ChangeMan.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring frameworks (Spring Core, Spring Boot, MVC, Integration).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, RESTful services, DevOps, and AWS.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
