About the position

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Mainframe Change & Release Management team within the Consumer & Community Bank. This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, and an understanding of IT service management principles. The Senior Associate will manage ongoing changes and releases for various products under the CCB Card line of business, ensuring the integrity of releases as part of AGILE development and facilitating timely feature releases into the production environment without disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the process of managing changes to the mainframe environment, ensuring that changes are documented, tested, and approved before implementation.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the deployment of new releases, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with changes and releases.
  • Ensure that all changes and releases comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and other IT teams to coordinate changes and releases.
  • Maintain detailed records of changes, releases, and related activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve change and release management processes.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of mainframe systems, including IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
  • Proficiency with change management and version control tools such as ChangeMan, CA Endeavor or similar.
  • In-depth understanding of a code base release coordination and management tool Cutover.
  • Ability to build and manage Release deployments using Cutover Run book tasks.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as REXX, Easytrieve, XML and automation tools like File-Aid, Sync sort, NDM.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins, Mercury Cloud File Transfer, Cloud GOS Database used in mainframe environments.
  • Knowledge of mainframe database systems like DB2, IMS, etc.
