We are seeking a Mainframe DevOps Engineer who possesses deep expertise in both mainframe and cloud-native DevOps practices. This role requires a unique blend of technical proficiency and client-facing consulting skills to drive modernization initiatives and promote our consulting services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of mainframe environments by implementing DevOps or DevSecOps practices, optimizing existing applications, data, and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and align with hybrid cloud strategies.
• Develop and implement cloud-native DevOps strategies using platforms such as AWS, leveraging Kyndryl’s expertise in designing, running, and managing modern technology infrastructures.
• Collaborate directly with clients to assess their DevOps maturity, design scalable solutions, and deliver impactful transformations.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support pre-sales and business development efforts by identifying opportunities for our consulting services and articulating the value of our solutions to potential clients.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to continually enhance our consulting capabilities and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (5+ years) with mainframe technologies such as z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab Runners, Github Actions etc.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, and experience integrating mainframe workloads into cloud environments.
• Proven ability to engage with clients, understand their business needs, and provide tailored solutions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement improvements effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies, DevOps practices, or cloud platforms.
• 5+ years' experience in industries where mainframe DevOps is critical, such as financial services, healthcare, or government sectors.
