About the position
The Mainframe Developer/Architect with IMS Background is responsible for leading modernization efforts in mainframe technologies, focusing on legacy migration projects. This role requires extensive experience in mainframe systems and a strong understanding of both traditional and modern programming languages, particularly in the context of migrating applications to cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Understand requirements for Mainframe Modernization and Legacy Migration.
- Participate in Legacy Migration projects as part of the LMCOE.
- Develop problem statements using automation tools and Python.
- Lead migration projects from On-Prem to On-Prem and Cloud Migration to Azure.
- Build team composition for Migration Projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Mainframe and Java Modernization.
- Strong experience in IMS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Experience with automation tools and Python for problem-solving.
- Knowledge of migration strategies including Microfocus.
