The Mainframe Developer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using various technologies and tools. The position requires a strong understanding of mainframe environments and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile setting. The developer will utilize a range of programming languages and tools to ensure efficient and effective software solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Cobol, DB2, CICS, JCL, and VSAM
- Experience with Git and code repository usage
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and Jenkins Pipeline
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and JIRA
- Experience with zOS Connect
- Proficient in using development tools such as IDz (RDz - older version)
- Ability to use code comparison tools like Beyond Compare
- Experience with streaming and data publishing tools such as HEC, Kafka, DD (Data Distributor), and Cassandra
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Kibana, Rancher, Microsoft Visio, Postman, and Insomnia
- Understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including nodes and PODs
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
