Mainframe Developer

About the position

The Mainframe Developer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using various technologies and tools. The position requires a strong understanding of mainframe environments and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile setting. The developer will utilize a range of programming languages and tools to ensure efficient and effective software solutions.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Cobol, DB2, CICS, JCL, and VSAM
• Experience with Git and code repository usage
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and Jenkins Pipeline
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and JIRA
• Experience with zOS Connect
• Proficient in using development tools such as IDz (RDz - older version)
• Ability to use code comparison tools like Beyond Compare
• Experience with streaming and data publishing tools such as HEC, Kafka, DD (Data Distributor), and Cassandra
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Kibana, Rancher, Microsoft Visio, Postman, and Insomnia
• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including nodes and PODs
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills
