About the position

The Mainframe Programmer role involves software development for critical enterprise applications, focusing on mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. The position requires detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects, deployment of software releases, and ensuring data security. The programmer will also engage in testing and may work with automation standards and DevOps integration.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects in batch and online environments.
• Deploy and support software releases into production environments.
• Employ data security skills to protect customer information.
• Conduct unit, functional, and regression testing thoroughly.
• Write COBOL/Native stored procedures as needed.
• Define and develop automation tests for Digital Healthcare products.
• Facilitate alignment to automation standards and support overall DevOps integration.
• Support Continuous Integration (CI) testing using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Rapidly prototype to validate ideas quickly.
• Write source code, adapt existing components, and test developed components.

Requirements

• Software development experience in business-critical, enterprise-wide applications.
• Mainframe development expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects.
• Experience with unit, functional, and regression testing.
• Proven experience writing COBOL/Native stored procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Distributed Technologies.
• Willingness to learn Java.
