The Mainframe QA Analyst position is focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of mainframe applications through rigorous testing and validation processes. The role requires a strong background in mainframe technologies and QA methodologies, with an emphasis on working with large data sets and automation testing tools. The analyst will collaborate with development teams in an Agile environment to identify issues and ensure that software meets the required standards before deployment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough testing of mainframe applications to ensure quality and performance.
• Validate large data sets and perform data validation using SQL queries.
• Utilize mainframe testing tools and automation testing techniques to enhance testing efficiency.
• Manage test cases and track defects using JIRA and other test management tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in scrum meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in Mainframe QA activities.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Experience working with large data sets and performing data validation using SQL queries.
• Familiarity with mainframe testing tools and automation testing.
• Proficient in using test management tools such as JIRA.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and the scrum framework.
• Excellent analytical skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
