About the position

The Mainframe Services Section Chief is responsible for leading the Mainframe Services Section within the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) in Wisconsin. This role involves mentoring staff, ensuring the delivery and security of enterprise mainframe services, and managing operations related to the state's mainframe infrastructure. The position emphasizes efficiency through automation and continuous improvement of IT services, while also being accountable for the quality of service provided to state agencies and partners. The role allows for remote work flexibility upon supervisor agreement, with the expectation that employees live and work in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Mainframe Services Section staff.
• Ensure the ongoing delivery and security of enterprise mainframe services.
• Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and support of the mainframe infrastructure.
• Manage complex projects with statewide impact related to mainframe services.
• Encourage efficiency through automation of tasks and processes.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and supporting technical services for critical enterprise-level systems.
• Project management experience in an enterprise IT environment, including business analysis and project planning.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in personnel supervision and management, including performance evaluations and resource management.
