About the position

The Mainframe Systems Programmer role focuses on the ongoing maintenance and administration of the z/OS operating system and related systems software products. This position requires expertise in managing upgrades, installations, and providing support for production environments, including off-hour coverage and weekend implementations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing maintenance of the mainframe z/OS operating system and accompanying storage systems.
• Administration of systems software products including database, transaction server, security management, and scheduling.
• Maintenance and upgrades of DB2 and related storage systems.
• Provide production off-hour coverage and support for periodic weekend implementations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD.
• Experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
• Basic IBM utilities knowledge (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.).
• Working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing.
