The technician will work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Manager, or Maintenance Director, and will utilize tools such as welders, hand tools, and electrical instruments to perform their duties. The position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and safely. The technician will perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, which includes cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating machinery. They will also be responsible for repairing or replacing defective parts, such as gears, bearings, and motors, using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments. The role includes addressing electrical issues, changing filters in heating/air conditioning units, and performing plumbing repairs. Additionally, the technician will be involved in carpentry tasks for equipment repair and fabrication of items needed for production and shipping. A key aspect of this position is the development and implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment life. The technician will also maintain the fire protection sprinkler system and manage the spare parts inventory, ensuring that necessary components are readily available for repairs.
