About The Position
The Maintenance 1 position at Double Eagle Hotel and Casino involves performing a variety of routine to skilled maintenance and support duties related to the care of the physical structure and systems of the property. Under general supervision, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the cosmetic appearance and functionality of the property through various maintenance activities. This includes minor repairs in plumbing, electrical work, and painting, as well as routine manual tasks such as moving supplies and furniture, replacing light bulbs, and cleaning snow and debris from sidewalks. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying maintenance needs and notifying management of any major repairs or issues that arise. In addition to performing repairs, the Maintenance 1 employee will also be involved in the installation and minor repairs of cabinetry, furniture, doors, and windows. The position demands a keen eye for detail, as the individual will need to visually inspect machines and equipment, listen for unusual sounds, and discuss any unusual conditions with supervisors. Safety is a priority, and the employee will monitor property-wide safety conditions and participate in safety training. The job may require working any shift, any time, and any day of the week, reflecting the flexible nature of the hospitality industry. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have some related experience or training. The role is entry-level, making it suitable for individuals with less than one year of experience in maintenance. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential, as is the ability to perform basic mathematical operations. The position also requires a current driver's license and the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
