About the position

Ground Effects LLC is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician. This full-time position requires a commitment to maintaining the facility and ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, and preparing surfaces for painting. The role also involves minor mechanical repairs, such as air tool repairs and maintaining air supply systems to company standards. The technician will ensure that the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping is maintained throughout the facility, reporting any issues to the production manager as they arise. In addition to routine maintenance tasks, the technician will be responsible for keeping a detailed log of all repairs and work completed each day, including preventative maintenance documentation. The role requires performing regular maintenance audits on a daily, monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly basis. The technician will also be tasked with ensuring that all rodent control systems are functioning effectively in both the warehouse and office areas. This position may require working overtime and weekends as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the maintenance needs within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in the building, including fixing leaky faucets and replacing light bulbs.
  • Prepare various surfaces for painting.
  • Conduct minor mechanical repairs, including air tool repairs and hanging signs or fans throughout the plant.
  • Maintain the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the production manager.
  • Keep a log of all repairs and work completed for the day, including preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure air compressor, company tools, pumps, and paint system equipment are maintained to company standards.
  • Ensure all rodent control systems are operating effectively in the warehouse and offices.
  • Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly maintenance audits.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Effective use of a variety of hand and power tools is required; candidates must have their own tools.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Fall prevention training is an asset.
  • Experience in maintenance within an automotive environment is preferred; knowledge of hydraulics or plastics is a definite asset.
  • Minimum grade 12 education is required.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills are necessary.
  • Must meet the standards of the current position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with hand and power tools (1 year preferred).
