About the position
The Maintenance Worker at Saint Louis University is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks across various building components, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry. This role emphasizes customer service, requiring the ability to prioritize service requests and respond to emergencies effectively. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance as assigned by supervisor and work orders from building occupants.
- Respond to service calls and emergencies, prioritizing workloads for appropriate response times.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including reading as-built drawings and locating isolation valves.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems within a multi-building complex.
- Understand and apply electrical principles, identifying high and low voltage systems and following safety procedures.
- Conduct carpentry and painting tasks, including wall construction, drywall repairs, and blending paint finishes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- State of Missouri Class E driver's license or equivalent.
- 24-hour availability for emergencies and willingness to work overtime.
- Two years of experience in a facilities environment or contractor.
