About the position

The Maintenance and Equipment Rental Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of recreational lodging grounds maintenance and equipment rental operations at the Short Stay on Lake Moultrie, Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This role involves direct supervision of laborers and recreation aides, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service for the facility. The supervisor will also handle personnel management, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, while supporting the Equal Employment & Opportunity Program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate employees, setting priorities and instructing them on policy changes.
  • Determine equipment and supplies needed for each section and assign work assignments accordingly.
  • Prepare work schedules and review/approve leave requests based on workload.
  • Train and orient subordinate employees, ensuring they meet job requirements.
  • Inspect facilities for deficiencies, safety hazards, and cleanliness.
  • Schedule and coordinate work orders and service calls with Civil Engineering (CE).
  • Ensure all rental equipment is safe and undergoes preventive maintenance as per OEM standards.
  • Maintain personnel records and evaluate employee performance, taking appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Manage the Government Purchase card and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Address grievances and prepare awards as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of principles and techniques of a working recreational facility, preferably gained through a college degree in Recreation or equivalent work experience.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with the ability to apply and utilize knowledge effectively.
  • Specialized program experience in equipment rental operations is required.
  • Knowledge in outboard engine repair, electrical knowledge of appliances, plumbing, painting, and ground maintenance is essential.
  • Ability to lift 75-100 lbs and meet physical demands of the job.
