About the position

The Maintenance and Reliability Manager at Chemours will oversee maintenance execution, planning, and reliability in a high hazard chemical manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for developing strategies to enhance production capabilities, manage costs, and ensure effective maintenance practices. The successful candidate will lead a team, interface with contractors, and represent the site in corporate networks to implement best practices in maintenance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a site-level reliability strategy and action plans to improve production capabilities.
  • Create a 5-year improvement plan for the maintenance team and programs.
  • Maintain a maintenance metric dashboard to drive improvement and prioritize actions.
  • Establish a cost management structure for Maintenance to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Develop direct reports and other leaders through training and collaborative problem solving.
  • Lead the development of asset management plans and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Interface with contracted work for both cost and capital projects.
  • Develop a spare equipment and parts strategy to optimize production capability.
  • Ensure effective implementation of maintenance and reliability work management processes.
  • Integrate CMMS into Management of Change Processes and improve its utilization.
  • Plan and execute long-term maintenance outages/turnarounds in partnership with Operations.
  • Represent the site on corporate reliability and maintenance networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years' experience in the chemical manufacturing industry, leading maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Strong technical, analytical, team building, and organizational change leadership skills.
  • Ability to define current states, opportunities, strategies, and plans for improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and influence management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project leadership/management and continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean).
  • Professional Reliability Certification (e.g., CRE, CRP, CRL, CMRP, RE Certificate).
  • Previous experience in contract management.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP-PM, SAP-MM & Maintenance Work Management Systems.
  • High Hazard Process manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with national standards such as API 510 & 570 & 653.
