About the position

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor at Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Co. is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Team, focusing on monitoring and improving Off Highway Truck (OHT) performance data throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves leading daily activities, managing projects, and ensuring that engineering teams effectively resolve field issues based on data analysis. The supervisor will also engage in project management, team collaboration, and direct supervision of engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the daily work activity of Maintenance and Reliability Engineers.
• Work with Customer Support to identify and scope reliability projects.
• Assess project complexity and assist with assigning project owners.
• Define timelines needed to complete projects with project owners.
• Create project charter documents in collaboration with project teams.
• Assist in failure mode and root cause analysis exercises.
• Ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframes.
• Report and present project status to management as required.
• Communicate project changes and progress effectively.
• Prepare project status reports for management on a regular basis.
• Advise project owners on data analysis techniques and MIN Reliability tools.
• Develop alternative solutions in individual and group problem-solving situations.
• Provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Follow organizational policies and support company goals and values.
• Serve as a project owner when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering.
• Demonstrated proficiency as a Senior Maintenance and Reliability Engineer.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical control systems, and diesel engines.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings and schematics.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Excellent group presentation skills and effective communication abilities.
• Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with low voltage D.C. and high voltage A.C. systems.
• Familiarity with safety rules and operating procedures.
• Experience in project management.
