About the position

Christensen Farms is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing priority repairs and maintenance on various equipment and facilities across our operations. Your ability to complete scheduled projects within the established timelines and quality standards will be crucial to the success of our maintenance department. You will work closely with production staff and other repair personnel to ensure that the quality of work is maximized and that productivity is maintained at high levels. As a Maintenance Technician, you will execute priority repairs as assigned, focusing on technical repairs specific to Christensen Farms and its producers. You will also be responsible for performing non-priority repairs, ensuring that all work meets the company's quality and cost standards. Your role will involve providing service and labor for our farm group, which may include general carpentry, plumbing, and steel repair tasks. Additionally, you will lead or provide labor for other projects as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. You will also play a key role in our Asset Maintenance Program, executing maintenance procedures on assigned farms and preparing seasonal equipment for use. Proper maintenance and storage of equipment not in use will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all tools and machinery are ready for operation when needed. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform mechanical tasks that are often non-repetitive in nature, such as those performed by carpenters, technicians, service personnel, plumbers, and mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment specific to Christensen Farms and its producers.

  • Perform general carpentry, plumbing, and steel repair tasks.
  • Lead or provide labor for other projects as needed.
  • Execute maintenance procedures on assigned farms as part of the Asset Maintenance Program.
  • Prepare equipment for seasonal use and maintain properly stored equipment not in use.

Requirements

  • Visual ability to perform activities such as operating machines like lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills.
  • Ability to perform mechanical or skilled tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpentry, plumbing, and mechanics.
  • Valid Class D driver's license required for operating a company vehicle.
