About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant at DaySpring Services plays a crucial role in ensuring that the facilities are safe, clean, and inviting for older adults. Requirements

• Familiarity with painting, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cleaning floors, and general repairs.
• A genuine desire to help others, especially older adults, in a compassionate, faith-driven environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Facilities Coordinator and other team members.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must have a valid driver's license to travel between facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and maintenance tasks to keep everything running smoothly.
• Prep and paint the walls of facilities.
• Freshen up rooms with painting, carpet cleaning, and assist in transporting furniture to and from storage.
• Effectively clean carpets and floors using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain the grounds through mowing, weeding, spreading mulch, and seasonal clean-ups.
• Ensure walkways are safe during winter months through snow removal and de-icing.
• Maintain lawnmowers, snow blowers, and perform minor tune-ups as needed.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
