About The Position

The position involves performing skilled trade work in the maintenance and repair of facilities at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Under the direction of the Zoo Facilities Manager, the role includes collaborating with a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the upkeep of zoo facilities, while also contributing to special events and activities.

Requirements

• Valid Washington driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2 years of journey-level carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work experience, or 6 years of related maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled trade work in construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of Zoo facilities.
• Assist with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks as needed.
• Support special events and activities, including creating figurines for Zoolights and other seasonal events.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments effectively.
• Observe safety requirements and report any unsafe conditions.
