About the position
The Maintenance Assistant / Transportation Driver plays a crucial role in supporting the Maintenance Director by ensuring that the facility's physical plant, equipment, grounds, and utilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety regulations. This part-time position also involves transporting residents to appointments and activities, contributing to their overall well-being and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Director in maintaining the Life Safety Code and physical plant in good working order.
- Transport residents to and from scheduled appointments and activity outings.
- Follow health, sanitary, and infection control policies as per community standards.
- Perform preventative service and maintenance checks on the vehicle.
- Schedule service maintenance for the vehicle as needed.
- Communicate effectively in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Observe proper safety and sanitary techniques in all tasks.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- CPR certified or willing to obtain certification.
- Valid driver license in good standing.
- Ability to comply with company policies related to public safety and driving.
- Experience in environmental services, maintenance, or a related trade, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
