About the position

The Maintenance Technician at ATG Entertainment is a vital role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the Majestic Theatre, Charline McCombs Empire Theatre, and The Espee in San Antonio. This full-time position requires flexibility in hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the venues. The technician will report directly to the Property and Facilities Director and will be tasked with a variety of maintenance duties that are essential for the upkeep of the facilities. Key responsibilities include inspecting buildings and structures to identify malfunctions and necessary repairs, utilizing a pre-established checklist for thoroughness. The technician will perform maintenance and repairs on various elements such as doors, carpeting, floor tiles, bar equipment, railings, fixtures, and minor plumbing tasks. This includes addressing issues with sinks, toilets, and shower fixtures, as well as handling leaks and other plumbing concerns. In addition to plumbing, the role involves minor electrical maintenance, which may include replacing or repairing fixtures like wall switches, outlets, and light bulbs. The technician will also engage in minor painting and carpentry tasks, preparing surfaces and applying paints or stains as needed. Furthermore, the technician will be responsible for reconfiguring and assembling office furniture to optimize workspace, using a range of hand and power tools. This position is crucial for maintaining the high standards of the venues and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and structures to detect malfunctions and needed repairs.
  • Maintain and repair doors, carpeting, floor tiles, bar equipment, railings, fixtures, and hardware.
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance including repairs to sinks, toilets, and leaks.
  • Conduct minor electrical maintenance such as replacing fixtures and bulbs.
  • Engage in minor painting and carpentry tasks.
  • Reconfigure and assemble office furniture to maximize space.
  • Utilize a work order system to track maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional certifications or training.
  • Five (5+) years in facilities, trade, or similar positions.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and fire alarm/burglar systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Understanding of work order systems.
  • Ability to work on ladders and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.
