About the position

The Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team by ensuring the physical condition of the property is well-maintained. This position involves performing various maintenance tasks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining professional relationships with staff and residents. The role requires on-call availability and the completion of service requests in a timely manner, along with adherence to safety and operational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the maintenance team with all on-site functions.
  • Complete all service requests on a timely basis and ensure notices are posted.
  • Perform common maintenance on gates, light fixtures, doors, windows, laundry facilities, pool and pool pump, and appliances.
  • Notify Senior Technicians of any supplies or parts necessary to complete the service requests.
  • Perform cleaning duties as needed, including mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Paint interior and exterior areas according to industry standards for preparation.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with staff, vendors, and current or prospective residents.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain all storage and maintenance shops neatly and safely.
  • Safeguard all company tools and equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing tenant/landlord relations.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in property maintenance capacity performing maintenance duties.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Skills in carpentry, roofing, and other general construction-related items.
  • Possess a technical service-oriented background.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Reliable transportation and own tools.

  • HVAC certification and pool certification to progress from Assistant to Lead Technician.
