About the position
The Maintenance Assistant position at Solaris HealthCare Charlotte Harbor involves performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks within a skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities
- Follow maintenance programs for heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Schedule maintenance for repairs, preventive measures, replacements, and new installations.
- Keep records of work performed and maintenance schedules.
- Be on call for emergencies and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Perform duties related to electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and mechanics.
- Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways, including gardening and landscaping tasks.
- Conduct heavy custodial duties such as scrubbing, buffing, and cleaning various areas of the facility.
- Run errands and handle incoming and outgoing freight as needed.
- Lift and move heavy furniture and equipment as directed by the Maintenance Director.
Requirements
- High school graduate or graduate of a technical school.
- At least two years of experience in maintenance and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to carry out repair or new construction and installation programs.
- Knowledge of supplies and equipment used in maintenance and care of this equipment.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients.
