The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing non-technical general building maintenance and repair duties, light maintenance activities, custodial duties, and minor repairs. This role requires close supervision while executing general building maintenance tasks, ensuring that all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and company directives. The Maintenance Assistant will engage in various activities, including custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and minor repair work, contributing to the overall upkeep and functionality of the property. In addition to general maintenance, the Maintenance Assistant will be tasked with specific duties such as replacing and repairing door hardware, locks, and keys, as well as performing interior and exterior painting. This includes experience with different types of paint, matching paint types to the appropriate application, and preparing surfaces made of wood, metal, and drywall. The role also involves replacing light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, moving furniture, and conducting vacancy clean-up and organization. The Maintenance Assistant must respond quickly to emergency situations and customer service requests, ensuring that the property remains safe and well-maintained. The position requires the ability to use technology, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems. The Maintenance Assistant must complete all required safety training and adhere to the company’s uniform dress code while maintaining a neat appearance. This role may require working extended hours without relief during priority situations and may involve shift work or on-call duties.
