The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing non-technical general building maintenance and repair duties, light maintenance activities, custodial duties, and minor repairs. This role requires close supervision and involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep and functionality of the property. The Maintenance Assistant will engage in general building maintenance, which includes custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and minor repair work. The position also entails performing general labor tasks as assigned by engineers, which may include loading, unloading, and moving materials, as well as running errands for various projects. In addition to general maintenance tasks, the Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for replacing and repairing door hardware, locks, and keys. The role also includes performing interior and exterior painting, which requires experience with different types of paint, matching paint types to the appropriate application, and surface preparation for wood, metal, and drywall. The Maintenance Assistant will also be tasked with replacing light bulbs, lamps, and ballasts, as well as cleaning fixtures. Other responsibilities include moving furniture, setting up modular systems, performing vacancy clean-up and organization, and responding quickly to emergency situations and customer service requests. The Maintenance Assistant must ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations while practicing safe work habits. The role requires the ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems. Additionally, the Maintenance Assistant must complete all required safety training and adhere to the company’s uniform dress code while maintaining a neat and clean appearance at all times.
