About the position

The Maintenance Associate I is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of Cliffside Malibu's luxury treatment facilities, offices, and equipment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting urgent maintenance issues, and assisting in the relocation and remodeling of client spaces. The position requires knowledge of various maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work, ensuring a safe and clean environment for clients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on residential and commercial properties regularly, such as cleaning gutters, inspecting facilities, checking plumbing, changing air filters, etc.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot urgent maintenance situations such as plumbing problems, broken fixtures, lighting issues, and more, in a client-facing environment.
  • Assess problems and determine when a job should be outsourced to a vendor.
  • Assist in relocating and remodeling client spaces, offices, conference rooms, and break areas.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of tools, spare parts, and replacement items kept on hand.
  • Diagnose problems, determine parts and materials needed, and perform repairs to resume operation of any systems or structures, with client-facing issues taking priority.
  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness of all tools, work areas, maintenance van, and overall facility.

Requirements

  • Up to 2 years' experience in residential or property maintenance
  • Some experience in carpentry, maintenance, and repairs preferred
  • Valid Class “C” Driver's License and liability insurance
  • 1-year minimum sobriety, if in recovery

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Familiarity with plumbing repairs
