About the position

The Maintenance Associate at Hight Enterprises Ltd is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and neat appearance of the store. This full-time position involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for both employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the lunchroom daily, including emptying the dishwasher, wiping counters and tables, vacuuming or sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning the microwaves.
• Removes trash from lunchroom, offices, restrooms, sales floor, and back stock areas.
• Cleans restrooms daily, including cleaning urinals and toilets, mirrors, sinks and floors.
• Monitors and stocks restroom supplies.
• Cleans floors and stairways, including dusting, wet-mopping, and waxing, according to the set schedule.
• Sweeps outside entrance sidewalks.
• Cleans entrance door windows and display areas.
• Responds promptly to requests for cleanup of spills or breakage.
• Practices good loss prevention techniques, including retrieving and destroying all price stickers found on the floor, handling and moving merchandise with extreme care when maintaining floors, ensuring that cartons being disposed of do not contain merchandise, and ensuring that merchandise used for maintenance has been approved, authorized by management, and accounted for on the store use log.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties such as collecting shopping carts, painting, minor repairs, replacing lights, maintaining buffing machines, trash cans, stair corners, and polishes brass.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to utilize a computer.
