Maintenance/Construction Technician III

About the position

The Maintenance/Construction Technician III position at Scotland Correctional Institution involves specialized work in multiple technical trades, including electrical, plumbing, masonry, and HVAC. This role is responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment, supervising offender workers, and ensuring compliance with work orders. The technician will work independently on complex assignments and may be required to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to provide 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities

• Complete complex work assignments requiring planning and coordination of multiple trade disciplines.
• Work independently on assigned tasks and refer technical issues to a supervisor.
• Supervise offender workers engaged in maintenance assignments.
• Ensure compliance with work orders and maintain equipment in proper working condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of progressive experience in assigned trade areas (electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, etc.).
• Working knowledge of methods, practices, tools, and materials used in maintenance and repair.

Nice-to-haves

• Current EPA Universal Certification license.
• Experience in maintenance or construction work.
