About the position

The Maintenance Control Technician is a full-time role based in Newburyport, MA, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of industrial maintenance systems. This position involves identifying and repairing electrical and mechanical defects, completing preventative maintenance plans, and training operators on maintenance techniques. The technician will also manage quality systems and adhere to safety regulations while working with various machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and repair electrical and mechanical defects.
  • Serve as the Competency Specialist for the plant in Robotics, Thermography, PLCS & HMI.
  • Complete assigned Preventative Maintenance Plans to eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Participate in RCA on equipment and process failures to provide insights and suggest corrective actions.
  • Train operators on maintenance techniques when troubleshooting or repairing equipment.
  • Document all maintenance work activity within the CMMS System.
  • Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Install, align, and adjust mechanical power transmission components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair power transmission and alignment of gears.
  • Utilize multi-meters to measure electrical parameters and troubleshoot circuits.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Industrial Maintenance Control experience or a two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Rockwell/OMRON PLC experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; preferably in both English and Spanish.
  • Must successfully complete HACCP Certification.
  • Forklift License or ability to complete required training within 90 days of hire.
  • Good verbal, written communication, and mathematical skills required.
  • Working knowledge of ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • AIB Bakery Equipment training course helpful.
