About the position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning, preparation, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities for a Combined Cycle Plant. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while providing reliable electric power generation. The planner will oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, manage budgets, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Visit work sites to identify safety hazards and potential problems.
• Estimate required craft groups and job duration.
• Determine material needs, reserve stock items, and order non-stock materials.
• Ensure all resources, labor, materials, and tools are ready before scheduling work.
• Develop and track craft/crew backlogs for scheduling.
• Track weekly labor capacity to manage backlog effectively.
• Prepare weekly and long-range projected schedules for Plant O&M Supervisors.
• Track work orders to completion in the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo).
• Interface with management and other stakeholders to resolve planning and scheduling issues.
• Provide performance reports for management review and administer action items.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or engineering technology preferred.
• Minimum of eight years of outage maintenance and management experience in a commercial electric power generating plant.
• Experience with a CMMS, preferably Maximo.
• Candidates with a two-year technical degree plus ten years of related experience or twelve years of directly related experience may be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Results-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical and business analytical skills.
• Ability to develop instructions from technical manuals and drawings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to use personal computers for various applications.
• Knowledge of power plant equipment and systems.
