About the position
The Maintenance Director at Vitalia Active Adult Community is responsible for overseeing the Plant Operations and Housekeeping departments, ensuring that the physical building and grounds are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves managing budgets, staffing, and compliance while maintaining resident satisfaction and safety. The position requires a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks and leadership in a community-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure physical building and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and appearance.
- Oversee Plant Operations and Housekeeping departments, including budget, staffing, and compliance.
- Maintain resident satisfaction with community and their apartments, addressing requests in a timely manner.
- Keep safety of employees, guests, and residents as a top priority, addressing potential environmental hazards and emergencies.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Certification and experience in HVAC highly recommended.
- Thorough knowledge of construction, refinishing, painting, plumbing, and floor/carpet care.
- At least 2 years of experience in apartment or multiple unit maintenance with supervisory experience.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items more than 50 pounds.
- Good physical health verified by a health screening.
- Clean driving record as per the insured's policy.
- Working knowledge of current OSHA regulations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in senior housing is preferred.
- Landscaping experience is a plus.
