About the position
The Maintenance E/I Associate at International Paper's Bogalusa Paper Mill is responsible for assisting journeyman-level electrical and instrumentation (E/I) technicians in routine maintenance tasks while also performing various duties independently. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, installing conduits and wiring, repairing lighting, and maintaining HVAC systems, among other responsibilities. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including shifts, overtime, and weekends, and emphasizes safety in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman-level E/I in routine maintenance work.
- Perform electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair.
- Install conduits and wiring.
- Repair lighting systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and drives.
- Calibrate and repair instrumentation and control valves.
- Perform HVAC maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Eligible for employment in the US.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of experience or vocational/technical education in Maintenance skill areas such as Instrumentation, Electrical, or HVAC.
- Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment.
- Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
- Ability to work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule.
- Willingness to work overtime on a regular basis with last minute notification.
- Ability to work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis.
- Wear required safety equipment.
- Ability to operate or work in industrial conditions.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree in IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines.
- Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
- Strong math/physics understanding.
- Electrical/Instrumentational background.
